As we all seek to become better stewards of our natural resources and to live more eco-friendly lives, community gardens can provide many benefits. As people garden they obtain healthy exercise, meet and interact with people of all ages and backgrounds, and enjoy fresh organically grown vegetables on their dinner tables. Community gardens also provide a vehicle for hands on education and offer local educators an engaging way to teach their students about the importance of caring for the earth. These are just a few of the many benefits the Avon Lake Community Garden provides for our city.
